How to use ControlByWeb products?

ControlByWeb’s Ethernet I/O products can be used as a stand-alone device that can be integrated with an existing system.

They can also be used in peer-to-peer mode where multiple ControlByWeb products can communicate with each other, allowing you to control outputs based on another devices output or input status.

ControlByWeb’s stand-alone products can be used as slave modules to controllers such as the X-400™ / X-410™ / X-600™ Web-Enabled Programmable Logic Controller.

Master I/O Controllers

Modular, web-enabled, industrial I/O controllers that allows you to add various combinations of I/O to tailor it to your specific application. Expansion modules can either be directly connected to the X-400/X-600 through the expansion bus, or you can connect remote ControlByWeb devices through an Ethernet network, including the Internet. 

Web-Enabled I/O Controller

  • Expandable I/O: Up to 100 I/O points.
  • Expansion Bus: Add up to 32 expansion modules and/or remote ControlByWeb devices.
  • 1-Wire Bus (Up to 16 temperature/humidity sensors).

Web-Enabled I/O Controller

  • Expandable I/O: Up to 1,024 I/O points.
  • Expansion Bus: Add up to 64 expansion modules and/or remote ControlByWeb devices.
  • Supports USB WiFi adapters & USB flash drives.
  • 1-Wire Bus (Up to 32 temperature/humidity sensors).

Expansion Modules

Expansion modules are used with an X-400 or X-600 controller. One or more,expansion modules can be connected to a control module with a ribbon cable. The ribbon cable provides both power and communications to this and other expansion modules.

The X-400 or X-600 with its expansion modules provides an easy, flexible, and reliable way to monitor and control systems and devices over a network.

Dual, High-Current Relay Expansion Module

  • 2 large SPDT (Form 1C) relays (277VAC, 110VDC (NO contact), 30VDC (NC contact) and 20A).
  • Removable locking connector supports 24AWG to 10AWG.
  • Two relay LEDs.
  • Powered through expansion bus.

Eight-Relay Expansion Module

  • 8 SPST (Form 1A) relays with shared common connection (2 commons).
  • Removable terminal connector.
  • Eight relay LEDs.
  • Powered through expansion bus.

Thermocouple Expansion Module

  • Supports one or two type K thermocouples.
  • Fault LED for each thermocouple.
  • Powered through expansion bus.

Eight Digital Input Expansion Module

  • 8, Optically-Isolated inputs with shared common for each input.
  • Indicator LED for each input.
  • Automatic de-bounce.
  • Interrupt output to Master (X-400/X-600) for fast response.
  • Built-in timers, counters, for each input.
  • Removable terminal connector.
  • Powered through expansion bus.

Eight Analog Input Expansion Module

  • 8, 0-5V precision analog inputs.
  • 24-bit A/D converter.
  • Single or differential input measurements.
  • 5.0V reference output.

4 Relay, 4 Input Expansion Module

  • 4 SPST (Form 1A) relays.
  • 4 Optically-Isolated digital inputs (common negative).
  • Removable terminal connector.

10 High-Current Relay Expansion Module

  • 10 Large SPDT relays (30A, 277VAC, 30VDC).
  • 1/4 inch tab connectors.

  • Powered externally.

16 Relay, 16 Digital and 4 Analog Input Expansion Module

  • 16 SPST relays.
  • 16 Optically-Isolated digital inputs.
  • 4 Single-ended channels analog inputs.

  • 8 precision analog inputs.
  • Configurable voltage ranges: ±1V to ±10V.
  • Connect 4-20mA sensors. No external resistors required.
  • High input impedance facilitates external resistors for voltage scaling, if required.
  • Powered through expansion bus.
